Most American and European gold jewelery is made from a combination of gold and other metals. It must be rated at least 10K to be considered 'gold' but can go up to 18K for bracelets. Any higher rated gold would be too soft, rendering a bracelet easier to scratch and to lose the design.
Gold comes in two different pigments, white or yellow.
Bracelets themselves can be made in either color. Tennis bracelets have become very popular. These are thinner diamond bracelets. Yellow gold is often chosen as the gold of choice for tennis bracelets.
